How To Help

People who work at FFACS are all volunteers. Whether you are an adoption counselor, thrift shop associate, foster parent or sanctuary assistant, you volunteer your time as part of your commitment to the kitties and the organization. No one is paid. If you can volunteer three hours/week at a job that you would enjoy, you will find a host of people just like you, dedicated people who love cats and believe they can make a difference by sharing their time and talents with us. Opportunities are available in every area. Foster homes are needed for kitties who are either too young to be adopted or need extra time to rebuild their trust with humans. All the cost for food, vet care and materials you need to be a foster parent is furnished. Contact us today and complete our Volunteer Application to send it to us.

Adopt a cat

All of the cats we have that are currently adoptable can be found through our shelter pages on Petfinder or Adopt a Pet. You can view the cats on our page Auburn Cat Adoptions.

Adoption Counselors

Adoption Counselors are trained by FFACS staff to screen and counsel potential adopters, complete required adoption paperwork and contract and give instructions to the new pet owner. This can be a very rewarding experience if you love cats and feel the satisfaction of seeing a cat get a loving home. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please fill out our Volunteer Application. You can enter the information using Adobe Acrobat and then print and sign the application. Mail the completed application to Friends Forever, A Cat Sanctuary, 359 Nevada Street, Suite 101, Auburn, CA 95603. You may also fax the application to (530) 885-8116. Or simply pick up and complete an application in person at our Adoption Center. For more information, please contact us at (530) 885-4228.

Foster Program

Our foster program is a way that you can care for kittens and cats on a temporary basis until they are ready for adoption. During the time they are in the foster’s care, food, litter and medical care will be provided by FFACS. Foster homes will provide a nurturing environment that will include opportunities to socialize the cats with dogs, children and other cats, give medications if necessary, and transport to and from vet clinic. Fosters must love cats or kittens and have a very good understanding of cat behavior and have lots of patience. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please fill out our Volunteer Application. You can enter the information using Adobe Acrobat and then print the application.
